DEPUTY ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF G5 LECTURES ON THE HURRICANE OPERATION (OPERAÇÃO FURACÃO, IN PORTUGUESE)
On August 27, Major General Otávio Rodrigues de Miranda Filho, from the G5 of the Brazilian Army Staff (5th SCh EME, in Portuguese), gave a lecture on the experiences gathered during the HURRICANE operations, in the context of the federal intervention, in the State of Rio de Janeiro. During the presentation, General Miranda Filho talked about the lessons learned during the operation, when he has commanded the School Support Group - 9th Motorized Infantry Brigade. In addition to all experience of various missions, the students captains understood the importance of knowing those lessons learned at the level of tactics, techniques and procedures, for planning and decision making in the context of Law and Order Maintenance Operations (GLO, acronym in Portuguese), huge in urban areas. It is noteworthy that throughout the event all preventive health measures against the spread of coronavirus were strictly observed, such as social distance between the military in open and ventilated environments and the use of masks.
